Warsaw today became the venue for a substantive debate on the energy future of Polish local governments. During the Green Municipality Forum, representatives of local administration, energy market experts and participants in the RES sector discuss the challenges of energy transition and practical solutions to support the construction of modern and secure energy strategies for cities and municipalities.

One of the key points of the program was a speech by expert Bartlomiej Kurasia entitled. “How to buy green energy for your city and municipality?”, dedicated to the practical aspects of renewable energy purchases by local government units. The workshop focused on mechanisms for effective planning of energy purchases, reducing price risks and building long-term energy strategies to meet the needs of local governments.

Green public procurement, the development of local renewable energy and the role of local governments in the energy transition are also at the center of the discussion. Participants in the event discuss opportunities for the use of renewable energy sources in local governments, models of cooperation with the energy sector, and solutions to support increasing the energy independence of municipalities and cities.
