Poland’s energy market is at a crucial moment of transformation. The growing share of renewable energy sources, price volatility and increasingly complex purchasing conditions are making energy planning one of the most important challenges for local government units. For municipalities, cities and regions, this means not only budgetary pressures, but also the need to make decisions over a longer horizon – in a more strategic, risk-proof manner, and based on real data.
The “Green Energy for Local Governments” conference is a unique platform created for local government units that want to consciously and effectively manage energy – from planning purchases and public procurement, to developing local RES sources and building energy independence. It is a place where representatives of local governments, members of the state administration, energy market experts and transition practitioners will meet to jointly develop solutions to the real challenges of TSUs. The conference brings together market knowledge, purchasing tools and models of local cooperation to support local governments in making decisions that strengthen security, cost stability and green regional development.
The conference program will include both substantive parts and practical workshops, during which participants will learn, among other things:
- How to effectively plan energy purchases in a changing market environment,
- How to reduce price risk and increase cost predictability,
- What tools and models of action can support local governments in building energy security,
- how green energy can become not only a component of climate policy, but a viable tool for financial stabilization and resilience to crises.
With a view to the comfort of participants and easier access to the event, the conference will be held in the formula of two regional meetings – separately for local governments from southern and northern Poland. This will make participation more convenient, without the need for long-distance travel, while maintaining the same quality of the program, substance and networking opportunities.
Conference participants will be able to:
- Take part in a substantive panel with energy market experts,
- Participate in practical technical workshops,
- Establish and deepen cooperation with industry specialists and partners supporting TSU.
During the event, we will jointly analyze both the challenges and opportunities facing local governments in the energy transition process. We will discuss the available solutions and tools, and look for models that can be realistically implemented in municipalities, cities and regions – so that energy becomes a strategically managed area, not just a cost area.
